Understanding and knowing how to use technology is highly important in today’s world. There is both a positive and negative effect to the increase in technology usage.
Advancements in technology have allowed companies, organisations and even individuals to effectively create a more organised and successful establishment. For managers, IT can lead to a decrease in middle management positions, provide real-time information for faster decision-making, and require the supervision of teams who are dispersed around.
However, the ever-increasing use of technology means that users must keep up to date with rapid technological advancements within the workplace. This may cause individuals to lose their jobs as they are not able to work with the machines. On the other hand, it opens up job opportunities, and allows companies to hire people who are educated in technology systems.
Over the years IT has opened many opportunities for individuals with disabilities, offers flexibility in work arrangements, automates mundane tasks, allows for assistance when in lockdown and improves healthcare services.
